Tips On How You Can Be A Responsible Tourist

Our Most Humbling and Rewarding Moments

2022 – The team at Romantic planet Vacations raised funds for and volunteered their time at Entre Amigo, a non-profit community centre in San Pancho, Mexico dedicated to increase learning opportunities for local children and their families. It was both a humbling and rewarding experience with an opportunity to see first-hand the positive impact of what just a few individuals can have on a community.

2021 – Romantic Planet Vacations joins The Global Sustainable Tourism Council.

2020 – Romantic Planet Vacations commences an internal ‘Green Committee’ of agent-volunteers to aid in our mutual pursuit of sustainable tourism.

2019 – Romantic Planet Vacations has always contributed back to the community in which they visit on their annual company familiarization trip. In 2019, our team visited and donated school supplies, funds and volunteer hours to repaint the Kindergarten room at the Obandito School in Guancaste, Costa Rica. It was a very rewarding experience and brought many of us to tears.

2018 – We set forth on a mission to raise funds and purses for girls at the Mariposa DR Foundation in the Dominican Republic. Here they create sustainable solutions to end generational poverty by educating and empowering girls and inspiring the international community to join the global movement. More information about their foundations can be found at www.mariposadrfoundation.org

2017 – We proudly raised donations for Global Medic, a charity who provides emergency relief to those affected by natural disasters and complex emergencies. With our contribution, they responded to the 2017 devastation caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria by sending water purification units and hygiene kits to St. Maarten, Cuba, Tortola, Antigua and Barbuda, Turks and Caicos, and Dominica.

2017 – We raised funds and brought donations for a resort’s chef who had lost everything in a fire.

2009 – We commenced a ‘give back’ program which saw 1% of its total sales donated back to charities in the countries in which it sells.

2005 – The company has funded programs such as providing solar-powered lamps to those who cannot afford electricity in the Dominican Republic to providing impoverished children with school supplies in Panama and more.

Our team is always getting involved in local communities whether it’s raising funds for charities, collecting toys for children at Christmas or doing food drives for local food banks.

Today, we are working on a program that will gift a wedding dress to a woman-in-need in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba and Jamaica, for every wedding group booking that books with us. It’s just another way we can make a positive imprint in the lives of others.
